Measurement errors in push-pull force gauges usually stem from improper calibration. To ensure accuracy, master these three critical points:
1. Multi-point calibration verification
Select three representative points at 20 %, 50 %, and 80 % of full scale. Perform three repeated measurements at each point and use the average. Allowable deviation must stay within ±0.3 % FS.
2. Temperature-compensation calibration
Conduct tests at 15 °C, 25 °C, and 35 °C. Ensure the temperature-coefficient compensation does not exceed 0.01 % FS/°C. A professional constant-temperature chamber is mandatory for this step.
3. Dynamic-response calibration
Apply a standard dynamic force source sweeping 1–10 Hz. Verify the device sampling rate is ≥500 Hz and phase lag ≤1 ms.
Professional advice: Use a 0.05-class reference force source and follow JJG 455-2000 strictly. After each calibration, issue a report that includes measurement uncertainty (expanded uncertainty U ≤0.5 %, k = 2). Recalibrate at least every three months and perform an on-site check before any critical measurement task.
