1、Startup Preparation
Before use, verify the instrument is level and ensure the rotor is undamaged. Maintain a laboratory environment at approximately 23°C with minimal vibration. Allow 15 minutes of warm-up time for initial startup (30 minutes recommended for high-precision measurements).
2、Standard Operation
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to activate. Install the rotor vertically until a 'click' is heard, then secure gently with the provided wrench. The sample liquid must fully submerge the rotor's marked line, and the protective cover must remain closed during measurement. For newly loaded samples, allow 2 minutes of settling time to eliminate bubbles.
3、 Special Sample Handling
For non-Newtonian fluids, use a stepped speed mode (6-60 rpm) and record complete thixotropy curves. High-temperature samples require a thermostat accessory—limit measurement to 5 minutes above 80°C and calibrate the temperature probe in advance.
4、Cleaning & Maintenance
Disassemble the rotor immediately after each use. Clean sequentially with lint-free cloth, 3-minute acetone ultrasonic bath, and deionized water rinse before drying. Inspect bearing clearance monthly and replace specialized lubricating silicone oil quarterly. For corrosive samples, perform thorough cleaning immediately post-measurement.
5、Key Notes
Remove batteries during prolonged storage. For error codes: E01—check rotor connector; E05—pause measurement for cooling; E12—switch to a larger rotor. Calibration intervals: monthly for industrial use, quarterly for laboratories. This guide applies to NDJ-5S/8S/9S series viscometers.
